Braintree - Integration Setup

To connect your Softrip application with the Braintree payments solution, you will need to create and pull several different credential values from the API screen in your Braintree account and input them into Softrip’s Credit Card API settings screen. You must have access to your Braintree account before going through these steps. If you don’t have access yet, please contact Softrip for help getting your account set up.

  1. In Softrip, go to Security → System Settings

  2. Expand System Settings and select Credit Card API

  3. If you don’t have any settings added yet, click Add New Setting. In the popup, select the appropriate Brand and Currency, or leave as DEFAULT if this will be used for all brands and currencies.

    If you already have settings for the brand and currency you’re looking to setup (including Default), click Edit at the bottom and update these settings.

    Set API Name to Braintree.

  1. The remaining fields to be filled out with values pulled from your Braintree account are:

    1. API User Name & API Password

    2. Transaction Key

    3. Merchant

  1. Log into your Braintree account at https://www.braintreegateway.com/

  2. Click on the Settings icon and then API

    1. API User Name & API Password - Under API Keys

      1. Enter the Public Key into the API User Name field

      2. Click on View under Private Key and enter the Private Key into the API Password field (this value will be masked)

      3. Click on API at the top to go back to the main Keys page

    2. Transaction Key - Under Tokenization Keys

      1. If the key does not exist yet, click Generate New Tokenization Key

      2. Enter the Key into the Transaction Key field

    3. Merchant

      1. Click on Business at the top

      2. Enter the Merchant Account ID into the Merchant field

  3. Once you have the API Name set to Braintree and have the API User Name, API Password, Transaction Key and Merchant fields all filled out, press Save at the bottom.
