Permissions for Making Changes to a Reservation
Softrip provides a series of checkpoints and system defaults that control whether internal users are allowed to make changes to reservations. These settings ensure that edits are made only by authorized users and within the appropriate timeframes.
Permission Checkpoints
The following checkpoints determine whether a user can modify, delete, or otherwise update a reservation:
R003 – Modify Service: Grants permission to modify or edit existing services.
R005 – Delete Service: Grants permission to delete services.
R059 – Allow Changes After Final Payment Date: Grants permission to make changes to a reservation after the final payment due date has passed.
R162 – Prevent Service Deletion on Active Reservations: Restricts the ability to delete services on reservations that are still active.
System Default: CHANGEAFTERDEPARTURE
Located in System Settings → Defaults, the CHANGEAFTERDEPARTURE default controls whether, and for how long, users are permitted to edit a reservation after its departure date has passed.
Key Behavior
Defines a post-departure edit window (measured in days).
Within this window, authorized users can edit a departed reservation (e.g., add or remove services, update headers).
Outside this window, edits are blocked unless the user has Checkpoint R131 enabled.
Checkpoint R131 – Edit Departed Reservations
Checkpoint R131 works in conjunction with the CHANGEAFTERDEPARTURE default:
If CHANGEAFTERDEPARTURE is not enabled, R131 has no effect.
If CHANGEAFTERDEPARTURE is enabled and the user has R131, they can edit reservations beyond the configured window.
If CHANGEAFTERDEPARTURE is enabled but the user does not have R131, edits are restricted to the configured window.
