Live “View Details” for Air Items in Cart

Softrip has enhanced the “View Details” button for air items within the cart, providing users with the most accurate and up-to-date flight information. This improvement ensures that air details are pulled live from the Global Distribution System (GDS) whenever possible, giving end users confidence in the information they see.

• For existing reservations with a valid PNR:
  When users click “View Details” on an air item, the system retrieves live flight information directly from the GDS for the given Passenger Name Record (PNR).

• For new reservations or those without a PNR:
  The system displays air information from the database as usual.

• The Air Information table is now collapsed by default on the cart’s main overview screen, keeping the interface clean and focused.

• Baggage Allowance and Cabin Class are no longer shown on the main overview, as these details may not always be accurate until confirmed by the GDS.

When users open the “View Details” popup for an air item, they will see:

• Header:
  Displays “Details for Airfare - [PNR]” for easy identification.

• Flight Details Table:

  • Airline Code, Flight Number, Class of Service, Airline Name

  • Departure City, Date, and Time

  • Arrival City, Date, and Time

  • Number of Stops

  • Terminal (if available)

  • Carrier PNR (if available)

  • Assigned Seats (if available)

• Additional Details Section:

  • Type of Airfare: Published, Instant Purchase, or Private

  • Cabin: Economy, Business, etc., based on the airfare’s cabin type

  • Baggage Allowance: Pulled live from the GDS and displayed as “Includes ‘x’ checked bags”

  • Ticket Numbers: Shown only if the air has been ticketed, with each ticket number and the corresponding passenger’s name

• The Air Information table can be expanded by clicking the Airfare link, allowing users to view details only when needed.

• The “View Details” popup is simplified to a single tab, focusing solely on flight details (no cost or inclusions for airfare).

• Live Data: Existing reservations with a PNR show live GDS data; new/no-PNR reservations show database data.

• Collapsed by Default: Air Information table is not shown by default on the cart overview.

• No Baggage Allowance on Overview: Baggage details are only in the popup, not on the main screen.

• Comprehensive Popup: Popup displays all relevant flight and additional details, omitting columns if data is unavailable (e.g., no seats or PNR).

• Accurate Ticketing: Ticket numbers are only shown if ticketed.
