Summary
The Softrip Direct Unique Link to Pay is an inclusion that is offered to any customer who is integrated with the Softrip Payments Platform.
This option provides our customers with the ability to send a payment link to their contacts or passengers on the fly and serves as an alternative process to collect payments rather than pushing a reservation through a queue.
Scenario
Passenger A has contacted ABC Tour Operator to create a reservation. The sales agent at ABC Tour Operator has completed the reservation for Passenger A, and now Passenger A wants to pay immediately. Instead of waiting up to 15 minutes for the new reservation to process through one of the queues in Softrip, the sale agent at ABC Tour Operator can access a link through the “Actions Menu” and send a link for the customers to make a payment on the reservation immediately.
Setting up the queue
In order for the Payment Link process to work, users will need to set up the following:
Payment link queue:
Setting up a queue through Operations → Res queues provides users with the ability to:
Set/Control the Correspondence type on the queue
Personalize/customize the email correspondence
Track the history of the communication through Reservations History
In the body of the email, users will use the following URL: https://res.domain.com/account/directpayment/?pg=[PassengerUniqueID]
This will provide the user with the ability to directly access the payment screen
Softrip suggests setting the correspondence type to the “lead passenger” on the queue.
Booking Rule
The Rule Area for the booking rule is “DirectPaymentLink.”
This allows clients to set up different queues per brand when applicable.
The “Rule Text” should be the name of the queue/the queue code.

Process Overview
Accessing the link
The direct unique link to pay will be accessible through the “Options” section of the “Actions Menu” labeled, “Send Payment Link.”
Sending the link
Once the user selects “Send Payment Link” a pop-up modal will appear, confirming the process.
Modal text: “This will send a link in order to pay without logging in. Are you sure you want to send this link?”
Once a user selects “Yes”, the link will be sent through the Reservation Queue. If they select no, the modal will disappear and users will view the reservations cart.
Note: This option will be available in both Res NET and NEXT but is only available with the Softrip’s Payment platform.
What the Contacts/Passengers will see
Once the contact/passengers receives the email from the queue, they will have an option to click on the payment link.
Once the payment link is selected, they will be brought to the payment page of the reservation. The Action Tool bar will be hidden to the passengers so the only action the passenger can take is making a payment. Once the payment is posted successfully, they will brought to the payment history page.
