How Creating Tasks Can Help You Introduction Overview
Okay so by now you probably know why creating tasks on the Softrip Calendar can be so incredibly helpful, right?
...Well, if you don't, we're here to give you a super quick overview of why we think creating tasks from the Softrip NEXT calendar is a pretty nifty feature.
Talking about Tasks
Creating tasks from the Softrip NEXT Calendar is pretty straight forward and simple to use.
First, you'll want to start by selecting the "plus" sign next to the date on the calendar. Doing this should open a pop-up where you can either choose a task or a memo.
From there, you'll be presented with a few different options from your pop-up screen: categories, visibility, recurring tasks vs date specific tasks, date ranges and our favorite, assign users.
Using the 'task' feature on the Softrip NEXT Calendar gives you the ability to communicate with other individuals within your organization regarding follow-up or to-do items. And, since this is the very first screen users will see when they log into Softrip everyday, there's no way they'll miss it! Bonus!
Now, we know what you're thinking.
"I already have email, I already have a phone system, I already have chat. What more could you possibly be offering me by assigning tasks from your calendar?"
It's an excellent question! Let us break it down a little more so you can see why we love the tasks feature so much.
Example
It's the beginning of the month and you are leading a team of seven individuals who all play a huge part in completing a set of tasks for a particular project in the next two weeks. You'd love to have daily stand-up meetings with them but time just doesn't permit something like that.
You think to yourself "wouldn't it be nice if I could just assign tasks to all of them and review the status of each of the tasks assigned to them quickly?"
And that, my friends, is where creating tasks come in!
The Process
In the above scenario, you can create a task and assign each task to either one individual or groups of individuals. These tasks will then appear on all of your team member's calendars. Executing this process is great because these tasks will not only display on their calendar upon initial log-in, but you can also quickly search each of their calendars to see which tasks are still open.
Can I see this in action?
We'd thought you'd never ask! This short video below highlights this option.
By following this process, you will no longer need to hold daily stand-up meetings with your team. Instead, you can schedule meetings to address any areas that your team may be falling behind in, giving you the time to coach and mentor your teams.
