CC Defaults Overview
The CC Defaults screen is a necessary step for users if they intend on accepting credit cards on their reservations through the Softrip application. Users will not be able to take a payment in form a credit card if this screen does not have information added.
The CC Defaults screen is accessible through the Accounting subsystem under the setup menu.
Setting up the screen
Users will select the plus sign in order to begin building their information into this screen. Below is the list of definitions for each field available.
Defining the fields
Company ID
Users can select the applicable company from the drop down menu. This information is pulled from the companies listed under the "Company Setup" screen.
Card ID
Users will enter the following abbreviations in this field based on the card types that they are accepting:
VI-Visa
MC-Master Card
AX-American Express
DS-Discover
DC-Diners Club
Note: If there are other card types that will be accepted, please contact Softrip.
Card Name
Users will enter the name of the card that corresponds with the card type.
Note: The Card ID is how Softrip identifies the card type. The Card Name is what is displayed in reservations when selecting and processing a payment.
Brands
If there are multiple brands available in one application, this is the brand that can accept that particular credit card.
Note: A CC Default must be created for each brand in order to accept a credit card payment. (see below)
Phone Number
Phone number of the processor which may be used to resolve processing issues. This is for internal use only.
Journal ID
Journal ID to be used as a default for this Credit Card when it is settled. Generally when creating journals, users will want to setup the following receipt journals:
RCCVIMC (for Visa and Mastercard)
RCCAX (for American Express)
RCCDS (for Discover)
Currency
Currency used with this Card. Example, if certain brands only accept certain currencies, users will need to setup the brand, card type (Visa, Master Card, and currency appropriately.
Merchant Number
Merchant Number as assigned by the credit card processor.
Merchant Name
Merchant name as indicated by the processor. (name of the account)
Processor
Credit card processor name or contact. Examples: Nova, Wells Fargo, WorldPay.
Notes
Any additional notes about processing charges for this card. This is for internal use only.
Additional Data
Used to setup credit card processing timing. Contact Softrip for more information.
