Passenger Range Management and Pricing Strategy in Custom Groups
When configuring a custom group, it's essential to establish an active passenger range value. This parameter informs the system about the anticipated number of passengers expected to book the product for sale.
In tandem with setting up the product, there's the quoting process, where various price points need to be offered to customers based on the number of passengers booked. The group system provides a mechanism to calculate the estimated selling price and determine costs to formulate appropriate pricing to advise your passengers. Â
When it's time to start sales, the system dynamically prices the package according to the active passenger range. For instance, if the active passenger range is set to six passengers at $6999, but eight passengers are booked, the system will still sell the package at $6999, irrespective of the passenger ranges initially configured in the group system.
As the departure date approaches, customers have the flexibility to adjust the active passenger range to reflect the actual number of passengers or a new expected count. Subsequently, mass changes can be executed to update package prices across all associated reservations within the group, ensuring accuracy and responsiveness to changing circumstances.
