2024.10 Release Notes

Res Next Documents - Build default PDF footer if not defined

Who it affects:

  • Anyone using res next documents.

Why we care:

  • Consistent footer on travel documents.

Summary

What's Changed:

Previously, PDFs like Invoices and TravelDocs displayed a document URL in the footer if the PDFDOCUMENTFOOTER setting was not configured. This update sets a default footer to enhance the document's appearance.

Why It Matters: This ensures a consistent, professional footer instead of a URL, improving the look of your PDFs.

Key Details:

  • If PDFDOCUMENTFOOTER is empty or not set, a default footer with placeholders will be used:

    • [BrandName] shows the company name.

    • [CurrentDate] shows the render date.

Examples:

  • Default: Displays brand name and page number.

  • Custom: [BrandName] - [CurrentDate] shows the brand name and current date.

  • Empty: <span /> leaves the footer blank.
