Pay Commission Exceptions
When the commission search is done within the Pay Commissions screen and there are exceptions, the rows of the grid are highlighted in blue. The original coloring was very hard to read, especially if there was also red text when overpayments were made. Softrip has updated this screen to have a lighter shade of blue in order to make it easier to read the screen.
Why it’s important:
To make it easier for the users to read the screen and be able to quickly make decisions on what to do with the commission payments
Who it affects:
Anyone using Softrip to pay the travel agent commissions
Air
NDC Fares for Sabre Net
Softrip is starting to get ready to support NDC Fares for Sabre customers in the Reservations Net system. The changes in this release are only within the back-end code to be ready to support shopping and booking an NDC Fare within the system. Look for this project to move forward and be ready to go in 2024.13!
Why it’s important:
Keeps Softrip and their customers up to date on the competitive rates and nature of air
Who it affects:
Net Reservations with Sabre Air
Reports
Memos/Tasks dataset to return WhoStamp/DateStamp
Within the Reports → Data Export screen, users have the ability to choose a Memos/Tasks dataset. This returns information about certain memos and tasks based on the filters the user enters. A WhoStamp and DateStamp column will now be an option to select from to see in the data. This will allow the user to return/view this information if they so desire.
Why it’s important:
Gives users the ability to see who updated the memo or task last and when
This is especially important in the case of Closed memos to see who closed the memo and when
Who it affects:
Anyone using the Softrip Data Export screen to review memos

Mobile view changes to the Top Navigation
Softrip has made some enhancements / adjustments to the top navigation and header when in mobile view. This will allow for some inconsistencies to be fixed as well as to enhance the user experience on mobile devices. The below changes have been made:
“My Account” label will only show as My Account if the user is logged in
If the user is not logged in yet, this will be labeled “Log in” and take the user to the log in page
“My Res” link will only display for external users if they have a Cart, meaning they have started a shop
NOTE: This will still show for internal users always as they have the ability to go to an empty res/cart to add manual items, etc.
Phone icon will now only display if the setup of the Brand has a phone associated with it. If not, will be hidden
Removed duplicate hamburger menu to make it easier to understand which menu to use
Why it’s important:
More travelers are using mobile devices to make reservations
Trying to make the system/process as clear as possible
Who it affects:
Anyone using Res Next on a mobile device
Payment Details to display Created By and Who Stamp
The Payment Details screen has been updated to now display both the Created By and the Who Stamp of a transaction that was made against a reservation. This change will only take effect based on the Created By and Who Stamp being different values. If they are the same, the screen will just display the Created By.
Created By and Who Stamp are the same (no one has updated the transaction yet)
Display as Created By [CreatedBy]
Created By and Who Stamp are different (a user has updated the transaction after creation)
Display as Created By [CreatedBy] / Last Updated By [WhoStamp]
Why it’s important:
Allows for the reservation user to see if a transaction was updated at any point and by whom in case of a question
Who it affects:

Vacation Builder - Support for multiple service types within a List
Softrip has made a change to the Vacation Builder process in Res Next that will allow for multiple service types to be loaded in to a List. When shopping for a Hotel, Softrip will still pull the “hotel” list, but if any items in the product are not a hotel, they will now be added to an “Additional Services” section in the results. These services will only display in this section if the hotel they are associated to is selected. To load these, these services will need to be loaded within the same plan as the hotel they are associated to.
This section will not display if no additional services are valid or if the selected hotel does not have any other services associated with it’s plan.
Why it’s important:
Allows for the operator to give optional services/transfers as options only when a specific hotel is selected
Makes it clearer to the user that they can only select these items when selecting a specific hotel
Who it affects:
Reservations Next vacation builder users
System Settings
My Account - New Reservation options
Softrip has added a new system setting to allow for the operators to decide what type of options they want the external user to have when creating a new reservation. This will now allow for having a button for “Package Search”, “Search Vacations”, or “New Reservation”, depending on the settings selected. You can select 1, 2, or all 3 as options. If no options are selected, the Package Search will be the only option available by default.
This setting is now added under the Reservation Display Settings → My Account
Package Search
Takes the user to the Package Search screen to search for any packages available to book
Search Vacations
Takes the user to the Vacation Builder / FIT shop form to search for a la carte reservation options
New Reservation
Allows the tour operator to enter in the specific URL that the user should be taken to when clicking the button
This will allow for you to redirect the user to your home page or to another shop process that is not hosted by Softrip
Why it’s important:
Gives the flexibility of choosing which reservation options to give the external users
This can be based on operator preference OR if they only sell a certain type of trip
Who it affects:
Reservations Next users
Invite Guests added to Menu Options
The Invite Guests menu option is now available to be selected in the System Settings → Groups Menu display settings. This will allow the operator to choose if they want to make this option available for their group leaders to use or not. The changes to this menu option setting is as follows
Update Manage Guest Lists to be labeled Invite Guests
Use this option to determine if the menu option within the Groups system should be shown or hidden
Why it’s important:
Gives the tour operator the flexibility to choose whether or not they want the group leaders to be able to send emails to prospective travelers
Who it affects:
Groups Next users
