Profile vs Profile Checkpoints

Profile vs Profile Checkpoints

What's the Big Idea?

By now we are sure you have a handle on the Security NEXT subsystem. Cool new screen, same functionality, done, right?

Sure! We can definitely support that summary; however, we'd like to take a couple of minutes to chat about the difference between Profiles and the new Profile Checkpoints option.

Security Profiles:

The Security Profile screen is a great place for users to set-up new user profiles to be applied to both internal users and travel agents. However, in order to add checkpoints to a profile from this screen, users will need to edit each profile one by one.

  • "So you're saying don't use the Security Profile screen?"

No way! This is a vital screen for you to access as you are creating new profiles.

  • "But why would I need to create new profiles? There are dozens of profiles already built for me without me having to create them myself."

True! However, let's consider the below scenario.

You support three different tiers of Customers. Within those tiers, each Customer may come with their own set of permission levels. For example, you may want to allow some of your Customers to do more self-service on their bookings while restricting some access to other Customers.

In order to support the above, you would need to create the user profiles that fit the best with YOUR business.

Security Profile Checkpoints:

Security Checkpoints can be accessed and viewed in two different locations: Profiles and Profile Checkpoints. However, while the Profile screen is a great place for you to set-up new user profiles, the profile checkpoints screen provides a place for you to quickly and easily manage user checkpoints and even compare and contrast other user profiles.

By accessing Security checkpoints, you are able to view all profiles and their associated checkpoints at one time. And, with a grid view of the screen, you can easily compare and contrast different checkpoints against different profiles.
