System Settings Overview

System Settings Overview

The System Settings screen is designed to provide users with the ability to manage and update their system's global settings all in one location.  This screen, available in both Softrip NEXT and SoftripOnline, allows users to create and manage their deposit and final payment booking rules, add their mail server settings, view and update system codes, manage required passenger fields for the Reservations System, and more.

Highlighting System Settings

The below will highlight some of the system settings that are available on the screen to provide users with a better understanding of some of the use cases and functions available.

Mail Server Setting

This setting allows users to set up their mail servers which supports the ability to send emails from the Softrip application.  For more information, review the mail server settings article.

Operation Settings

The Operation Settings allows users to customize text that will display when messages are sent through the Operation Messages screen.  This is a good example of how some settings available will provide users with the opportunity apply default text to their templates.

Reservation Settings

Under Reservation Settings, users can choose the information that is required to collect in the Reservations System.

Rules

Note:  These Rules are available under the System Settings screen for Softrip Online only.  For Enterprise, users will want to access these rules under Product Booking Rules.

Users can add default text to their booking rules under system settings.  This includes the default text that will display on the following documents:

  • Invoices

  • Documents

  • Group statement

  • Quote letter

Users also have the opportunity to add the default deposit date, final payment date, and deposit amounts in this screen.

There is default data that exists in each of these booking rules.  The default text on these booking rules will display on the invoices and documents, but will direct users which booking rule the text is under.  If users do not want to use the booking rule, delete the text in the rule.  If users want to use these rules, then simply edit the rule with the appropriate text.

Note:  The filter tab that is typically displayed for Booking Rules is not exposed on the System Settings screen as these rules were meant to be default rules.  Softrip Enterprise users may not see some of these rules exposed on the System Settings screen.

If these rules are not exposed on the System Settings screen, users can access the Product Booking Rules screen as normal.

Note:  Users will be able to see the update on the Deposit Amount Rules on both the System Settings Screen as well as the Product Booking Rules screen. Â
