Import Customers

Import Customers Overview

Similar to the import contacts screen, the import customers screen provides users with the ability to mass import customers into the Softrip application.  

This screen is designed to support either new Softrip partners who have a need to enter all of their existing customers from their original database into Softrip, or for existing Softrip partners who have acquired a new customer base/have connected with new organizations and have a need to enter multiple customers at one time.

The Import Customers screen is accessible in the Marketing subsystem, under the Manage Customers menu.  

 

Importing Customers 

In order to successfully import the customers into the Softrip application, first use the "export" option available on the screen.  Selecting the "export" option will open a spreadsheet with the pre-determined columns required to create a customer database.  

 

Once the file is exported, each row and column should be filled out accordingly by the user.  Once the information is added into the spreadsheet, save the spreadsheet, and then proceed to upload the CSV file into the screen.  

If there are any additional columns that are required to be mapped, select the appropriate csv columns and map them to the customer (Softrip application) columns. 

Once the spreadsheet is uploaded, first preview the results to confirm the customer data was mapped correctly.  Then, select import customers.  Once the customers are uploaded, preview the customers under Manage Customers in the Marketing Subsystem.
