Import Contacts

Import Contacts Overview

Softrip provides users with the ability to import contacts or leads through the Marketing subsystem.  Users can take advantage of this any time they want to mass import new contacts or leads instead of  adding each contact into the manage contacts screen one by one.

Example

Company X has just signed up with Softrip and they have a list of existing contacts and passengers that they want to enter into their Softrip application.  By using the import contact screen, users can mass import these contacts into the application.

As contacts are imported, users will also have the ability to associate a the origin or the subscription as it pertains to the contacts.

Example

Users may have a list of new contacts to import because there is a list of new contacts associated to a specific marketing campaign.

Note:  The file must be a CSV file in order to import into this screen.  Users must also include the appropriate headers on the file in order to successfully map and import the file into the import screen.

Note:  The import procses runs every 15 minutes.

Users can access the import contacts screen under manage contacts in the Marketing subsystem.

Importing Contacts

When importing new contacts, users have the opportunity to associate the contacts to specific origins or brands.  In order to begin the import process, users can first select the "export" option.  By selecting the export option, users will be able to view and fill in the appropriate fields required to execute an import.

Users will have the option to choose different origins and subscriptions prior to finalizing the import process.  The origins that users can choose from pull from the campaigns entered into the campaign management screen.

Users can choose a subscription from a drop down list.  The subscription that displays are the options that are entered in the subscriptions screen.  For more information on how to set-up subscriptions, view the subscription set-up and history article.

Import Status

After an import is executed, users can select the second icon on the bar to view the import status.

On this screen users can pause or cancel the import, view the status of the import, view any errors potentially associate with the contacts and view the contacts profile.

There is also a refresh icon on the screen.  Depending on the size of the file, it may take some time for a file to complete its' import.  Because of this, users can select the "refresh" the button to view an update on the import details.
