Mail Server Office 365 Steps Send As Permission

Mail Server Office 365 Steps Send As Permission

How does Softrip integrate with your Mail Server

Softrip uses a single authentication account to manage email communications through your mail server. To ensure seamless functionality, the following configuration must be implemented:

Each internal user email account must be configured to allow the Softrip authentication account to "send as" that user.

Example:
If your internal user email account is user@company.com and the Softrip authentication account is info@company.com, you must grant info@company.com the necessary permissions to send emails on behalf of user@company.com.

This setup ensures that Softrip can manage email communications efficiently while maintaining proper sender representation.

Mail Server Configuration Requirements

  1. Authentication Account Permissions

    • The authentication account must have permission to "send as" any internal email account to any email account, including those on external domains. ex: Info@company.com

  2. Supported Protocols and Ports

    • Softrip supports any TCP port and mail server address.

    • SSL/TLS over SMTP (STARTTLS) is fully supported for secure email communication.

  3. Email Sending Scope

    • This configuration will not allow Softrip to send as any user to any recipient.

    • Instead, it will allow the Softrip authentication account to send emails on behalf of internal users to any recipient.

      5. Save changes.

  3. Repeat for All Users

    • Repeat the steps above for each internal user email account that requires Softrip integration.
