How To Set Up Single Supplements

A Single Supplement is used to supplement the price of a Package where only 1 Passenger would be traveling. Using this method would display the single supplement as its own line item within the Shopping Cart:

Create Services & Rates

You’ll first need to create a Single Supplement service with its own rate details. This is helpful if you want to set different single supplement rates based on different times of the year.

  1. Create Services where Service Type = Single

    1. Create Rates Ex:  Flat rate based on duration

      1. SupplierID:  US-PHLG1I

        1. Service:  ServiceID = SGL-1100 (For a 11-day package)

          1. Cost:  $700

          2. Price :  $1100  (Enter in cost if you wish to keep track of single supplement cost)

        2. Service:  ServiceID = SGL-1200 (For a 12-day package)

          1. Cost:  $900

          2. Price: $1200

    2. Destination specific Single Supplements (Example China)

      1. SupplierID:  US-PHLG1I

        1. Service:  ServiceID = CN-SGL-2100 (For a 11-day package)

          1. Price:  $2100

        3. Service:  ServiceID = CN-SGL-2300 (For a 13-day package)

          1. Price: $2300

Update Products

Once the service or services are created you’ll need to add them to the Product where you are offering these Single Supplements.

  1. Open the Product and use the “Add Service” process to add the Single Supplement Item within your Plan

  2. Set the Item Role = S (S is for supplement)

Update Departure From and To Prices

In certain cases there may be a need to update the “To Prices” column within the Departure Dates and Prices records.  This ensures the Price of the Single Supplement will pull correctly when the system sees that the Total Price of the Package falls within the Departure From and To Price Range you’ve set. You can learn more about the Departure From and To functionality here: (Add URL)

If you are offering pricing for A mask, remove those records. The Supplement Service will take over the need for the A Mask options. Please test with a small sample size to make sure this is working as expected.

CMS Landing Page:  (Optional Step)

Add Text to the Highlights section if you wish to let your customers know what the single supplement price will be if you want to be advertised the single pricing.

Once steps are completed, please proceed to book a single room for the product updated and review if you are getting the pricing as desired.
